- East Tennessee State is 1-1 on the season after a loss to Tennessee at home and a road victory against former Big South school Liberty.
- The two games were decided by a total of five points, with the loss to Tennessee coming by four (72-68) and the Bucs leaving Lynchburg, Va. with a one-point victory (63-62).
- Junior guard Erica Haynes-Overton has had a huge start to the season, averaging 32 points per game after the first two. She had a monster game against the Lady Vols to open the season, scoring 41 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore E'Lease Stafford also scores more than 10 points per game, averaging 11 through the first two.
