HIGH POINT, N.C.—The High Point University women's lacrosse team plays Denver in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon (May 11) in College Park, Md. First draw at the University of Maryland's Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex is set for 4 p.m. It is the Panthers' fourth NCAA Tournament appearance (2013, 2014, 2017).
Quick Hitters
• High Point (17-2) defeated Winthrop, 18-7, on Sunday (May 6) to win its second consecutive and fourth overall Big South Tournament Championship.
• Junior
Samantha Herman was named the tournament MVP and was joined on the all-tournament team by senior

Jill Rall and freshman
Abby Hormes.
• Senior
Erica Perrotta was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Year and was the first HPU and Big South student-athlete to be named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.
• Perrotta has set the school records for career goals (142), shots (330) shots on goal (237) and caused turnovers (128) and is second in HPU history with 231 career points, 85 career assists, and 141 ground balls.
• In single-season HPU history, Perrotta has set the school record for caused turnovers with 40, while junior
Samantha Herman has an HPU-record 78 draw controls this season.
• Senior
Brooke Stevens has broken the school record for single-season assists with 49, while she ranks in a tie for second with Perrotta in career assists (85) and fifth in career points with 173. Stevens' 49 assists this season rank eighth in the nation, while her 85 points rank 20th in the country.
• Freshman
Abby Hormes was named the Big South Freshman of the Year and has the second-most goals in an HPU single season with 58. Hormes' 58.6 percent shooting percentage ranks sixth in the country, while her 58 goals are currently 26th in the nation.
• High Point holds the nation's best free position percentage at 57.3 percent and is third in the nation with 12.63 caused turnovers per game. The Panthers rank second in scoring defense (8.00 gpg), fifth in scoring offense (16.37 gpg) and are third in scoring margin (+8.37 gpg).
• HPU head coach
Lyndsey Boswell was named the Big South Coach of the Year for the third consecutive and fourth time in five years.

• High Point is 1-3 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. HPU defeated Towson in the first round of the 2017 tournament for the first NCAA Division I Tournament win in HPU athletic department history.
On the Pioneers (12-6)
• Denver advanced to the Big East Championship final before falling to Florida, 18-6, on May 5. Julia Feiss leads the Pioneers with 53 points on 43 goals and 10 assists, while Quintin Hoch-Bullen has 52 points on 36 goals and 16 assists.
All-Time Series
• This will be the third meeting between the two programs with the Pioneers leading the series, 2-0. The two teams played during the regular season in 2013 and 2014.
