Johnny Fenwick added another distinction to his list of accolades, coming in at No. 42 in this year's Top Drawer Soccer Top-100 list. The Panther captain was ranked 22nd among players outside the ACC, Big 10 and Pac 12, while finishing 11th overall among all Division I defenders.Â
Completing his fourth and final year at High Point, Fenwick has continued to prove himself as one of the greatest players to ever grace the campus of High Point University, becoming just the second Panther in history to receive All-American status from United Soccer Coaches this early December.Â
Looking to further his career at the pro level next year, the English native has accrued more hardware than any other HPU player in history, with four Big South All-Conference selections, three NCCSIA All-State designations and a pair of All-Region honors. Playing on the back four, Fenwick captained an HPU squad that won its second straight regular season conference championship in 2018, while leading the Panthers to their first NCAA Championship berth in program history.Â
Fenwick was the lone Big South member to make this year's list, as the conference Defensive Player of the Year stood head and shoulders above the rest of the league's defenders. Collecting a total of 77 caps over his four years at High Point, Fenwick retires from his college career ranked fourth in Division I program appearances, and goes down as the only player in HPU history to earn Second-Team All-American status.
