HIGH POINT, N.C.— No. 8 High Point University women's soccer begins its postseason run this Saturday, facing off with the top-seeded Radford Highlanders on the road at 7 p.m.
The end to the Panthers' regular season was full of ups and downs this year, losing a pair of contests in overtime, and earning a draw against No. 2 Gardner-Webb in the final 10 days of the campaign. HPU will face a familiar foe in the Highlanders, dropping another extra time matchup to the side earlier in the year. The Panthers were on a four-match win streak against Radford before dropping that decision, but have not played the Highlanders in the postseason for nearly a decade, last defeating the side 1-0 in an overtime Big South semifinal in 2009.Â
High Point will be looking to play the upset against a Radford side that has not lost since September 22nd. The Highlanders have outscored opponents 19-5 on their current eight-game winning streak and are looking for their first tournament title since 2011, finishing the season as the top seed for the first time in five years. Â
