HIGH POINT, N.C. – Winners of three straight, the High Point University women's basketball team returns to the Millis Center to host UAB on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.

The Panthers posted a successful road trip winning at Stetson (69-64) and Norfolk State (59-56) to move to 4-2 on the young season. Meanwhile, the Blazers picked up their fifth win compared to just one loss in a 70-59 triumph at Appalachian State on Friday.

QUICK HITTERS

Camryn Brown had an incredible road trip posting 18.5 points and 4.5 assists per outing in wins over Stetson and Norfolk State. She hit career highs in scoring (24) and three-pointers (5) in the victory over the Hatters.

• Coming off the bench,
Kat Harris has increased her scoring average from 6.7 to 12.0 by posting 17.3 points per contest as the Panthers have won three straight games.

Shea Morgan has scored in double figures in three straight games for the first time in her career averaging 12.3 points.

Emma Bockrath racked up three straight double-doubles for the first time in her career to open the 2017-18 campaign. She tied for 33rd in the nation in the statistical category.

• HPU assisted on 13 of 19 makes against Norfolk State and have now assisted on 61.6 percent of the field goals this year. That's an increase for the third straight season.

• Hendrix finally has a veteran roster to work with for the first time since 2014-15. HPU has had at least 70 percent of its roster comprised by underclassmen each of the last two years, but have nine upperclassmen this season.

Kennedy Currie is becoming a force on the inside averaging 8.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per night over the last three games.

• The addition of
Heather Kearney to the staff is showing early returns as HPU's pressure defense has held opponents to a .217 mark from three-point land, which is an improvement from the .310 mark the defense allowed in 2016-17.

• HPU has gone as
Kat Harris has gone early this season. The senior is averaging 16.0 points and 2.25 three-pointers per win but just 3.0 points and 0.5 three's per loss.

• HPU is 48-21 in home games under
DeUnna Hendrix and 12-7 against non-conference foes in the Millis Center during that span.

Matchup to Watch
HPU's three-point percentage defense ranks ninth in the nation at 21.7 percent. On the other side, the Blazers are the 14-best three-point shooting team in the country hitting 41.4 percent of their attempts.

Breaking the Streak
The Panthers snapped a 20-game losing streak to non-conference Division I foes with a 69-64 win at Stetson and followed that up with another victory two days later at Norfolk State by a 59-56 mark.

Continuing to Rebound
• Last year, HPU outrebounded its opponents by 5.3 boards per outing, which ranked 45th nationally. That mark was an 5.4 per game improvement from 2015-16.

• Through five games in 2017-18, that trend as continued as HPU ranks 65th nationally with 43.5 rpg. The team also boasts a plus-5.0 in rebounding margin per contest.

• HPU has outrebounded all of N.C. Wesleyan (22), Ohio (13) and Barton (11) by at least 11 boards.

• High Point finished the 2016-17 campaign ranked 33rd in the nation with a 75.3 free-throw percentage.

• Only one Panther who attempted at least 10 free throws on the season shot lower than 70 percent from the line.

•After starting the season 10-of-22 in the first two games, the team is 39-of-51 (.765) from the line during the three-game winning streak.

All-Time Series with UAB
HPU and Blazers are meeting for the third straight season and the fifth time overall. UAB has won all four previous meetings, but only one by more than 10 points. Last season, the Blazers won 75-66 in Birmingham.

Scouting the Blazers
UAB is 5-1 on the year coming off a 70-59 victory over Appalachian State in Boone, N.C. on Friday morning. The team's only loss came against Indiana in the St. Mary's Tournament in San Francisco. The team is led by the wing duo of Deanna Kuzmanic and Rachael Childress who combine for 27.5 points per game and hit .493 from beyond the arc.
