HIGH POINT, N.C. – After kicking off conference play in impressive fashion at home on Tuesday, the High Point University women's basketball team looks to start 2-0 for the third straight season when it visits Liberty at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

The Panthers (3-9, 1-0) began Big South action with a convincing 88-43 victory over Winthrop in the Millis Center. Meanwhile, the Flames (2-10, 1-0) put a tough non-conference slate behind them with an 81-72 win at Charleston Southern.

Quick Hitters
• The Panthers dominated the glass to earn a +30 edge in rebounds (62-32) in the victory over Winthrop. The 62 boards tied for the most in HPU history against a Division I opponent.

• Outside of her record scoring pace, Kaylah Keys is headed toward other remarkable career milestones. The guard needs 60 rebounds, 25 assists and 18 steals to become the first Panther in the team's Division I era to rack up 400 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals.

• Kat Harris is now 30-of-35 (.857) from the line this year, which is good for second in the Big South as she looks to repeat as the league's top free thrower.

• High Point was credited with 22 assists on its 31 made shots against the Eagles on Tuesday. That ups the team's average to assists on 61.2 percent of its made baskets. For comparison, the 2015-16 squad dished out assists on 50.5 percent of its made baskets while the Flames have assisted on 55 percent of their buckets this winter.

• After Shea Morgan tallied 10 points on Tuesday; nine different Panthers have posted double-digit scoring efforts this season led by Kaylah Keys' seven double-digit outings. Last season, the squad only featured seven players with a double-figure scoring outing.

• The Panthers are leading the Big South in 3-point shooting percentage (.336) and free throw shooting percentage (.747) for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Liberty is eighth (.276) and ninth (.602), respectively.

• With her next start, Kaylah Keys will move into sole possession of second place on HPU's Division I starts list with 98.

• The Panthers have dropped the last five meetings against Liberty, but prior to that stretch HPU won three straight games in the Vines Center - the only Big South program to achieve that feat.

Taking Advantage of Opponents' Charity
• A season after upping the Division I season record for free throw percentage (.749), HPU is leading the conference and 44th in the nation hitting .747 from the line.

• HPU dipped below 60 percent in two straight games, but in the last five contests since, its 83-of-100 (83 percent).

• Only one player to attempt 15 or more free throws this season is shooting below 76 percent on the year.

Keys is Still Climbing
• Senior Kaylah Keys became High Point's Division I scoring leader with 13 points on Dec. 21 at Western Carolina. The guard is sixth on the all-time scoring list with 1,613 points and is 76 points from fifth-place Angie Green.

• The Memphis, Tenn. product is the leading active scorer in the Big South Conference and is 14th among active players nationally.

All-Time Series with Liberty
The Flames own a 37-13 edge in the overall series and have won the last five meetings in the series.

Last Time They Met
Despite five three-pointers from Kat Harris and 20 points from Kaylah Keys, Liberty earned a 73-68 victory in the Millis Center on Feb. 23, 2016.

Scouting the Flames
Liberty has basically replaced its entire rotation from last season, but is deep with 10 players averaging 10+ minutes per game. The squad is led by freshman Keyen Green's 10.5 points and 8.7 boards per outing.

The Matchup to Watch
Which offense can keep the momentum rolling? Lela Sellars and the Flames entered conference play cold from 3-point land and then hit 12-of-21 in the win over the Bucs. Meanwhile, HPU ran up 88 points and saw 12 players score in the win over Winthrop.

Next Up
High Point will return home on Tuesday to host Charleston Southern in the Millis Center at 7 p.m. The Bucs got the better of the Panthers last year in Millis in a dramatic 64-62 victory.
