HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University men's basketball team play its second-straight game at the Millis Center on Saturday, Jan. 14, when the Panthers host Presbyterian College for a Big South showdown.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Kevin Burke and Stafford Stephenson will be back on the call on the High Point Panthers Radio Network, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m.

• The Panthers fell to 1-4 on the season with a 62-58 loss to Liberty at home on Wednesday. HPU led for nearly 30 minutes but was unable to get the win as the Flames went ahead in the final two minutes then went 6-6 from the line down the stretch to maintain their advantage.

Andre Fox and
Ricky Madison tied for the team lead with 12 points apiece against Liberty. Madison also led the team with nine rebounds while Fox finished one rebound shy of his career high with seven boards. Freshman
Jamal Wright led the team in assists for the 11th time in 17 games with five dimes on the night.

• High Point has been one of the top rebounding teams in the Big South since the start of league play. The Panthers have a +5.0 rebounding margin in five Big South games and have won the rebounding battle in each of its past three games. For the season, High Point has allowed just 33.1 rebounds per game, tops in the conference.

• High Point has excelled in free throw shooting on the road, going 120-158 (.759). Overall, High Point ranks fifth in the Big South in free throw percentage at .697 (272-390) and the team ranks in the top 100 in the nation in both free throws attempted (66th) and free throws made (72nd). Jamal Wright currently sits second in the Big South in assists per game (3.8) in his first collegiate campaign. He has 61 assists while committing just 41 turnovers and is third in the conference with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• Bowman Jr. is one of 48 players nationally with at least seven double-doubles in 2016-17. The redshirt-senior is second in the Big South and 56th nationally in rebounds/game (8.9).

HISTORY vs. PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE
High Point leads the all-time series against Presbyterian College with 14 wins in 22 games against the Blue Hose. The Panthers have won nine of the last 10 meetings with the Blue Hose, including both games between the two sides last season. HPU earned an 82-66 win at home then completed the sweep with an 80-60 win on the road. The game in Clinton, S.C., was
Miles Bowman Jr.'s first start at High Point and the forward finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. High Point's last loss to Presbyterian College came in 2012 when the Blue Hose picked up a 65-62 win at the Millis Center.

HISTORY vs. OPPONENTS FROM SOUTH CAROLINA
High Point has complied a 75-90 (.455) record all-time against Div. I programs hailing from the Palmetto State. HPU's most common opponents are Winthrop (13-27, .325), Coastal Carolina (16-21, .432) and Charleston Southern (19-16, .543). High Point is 46-51 (.474) against Big South programs from South Carolina and 29-39 (.426) against the rest of the state's Div. I teams. HPU is 0-2 against teams from South Carolina this season having lost at Clemson and at home against Winthrop.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE (4-12, 0-5 BIG SOUTH)
Presbyterian College is the lone winless team in the Big South with losses to Liberty, Campbell, Longwood, Radford and Winthrop. Overall, the Blue Hose have lost six straight and are 4-12 heading into the weekend. PC's only wins against Div. I teams this season have come against Furman and VMI. Jo'Vontae Millner leads the Blue Hose in both scoring (11.9 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg). Reggie Dillard is second on the team in scoring at 8.9 points per game and leads the team in assists with 3.3 per contest. The Blue Hose rank last in the conference in scoring at 65.7 points per game and are eighth in points allowed, giving up 74.8 points per game.

High Point remains hits the road this week for two-straight road games starting with a midweek contest at Campbell on Thursday, Jan. 19, in Buies Creek, N.C.
