CONWAY, S.C. – The High Point University baseball team will face off with #21 Coastal Carolina in the rubber game of a three-game series on Monday, April 25, at 4 p.m., in Conway, S.C.
Freshman right-hander
Andrew Gottfried will take the mound in the series finale for his eighth start of the season. He is 4-2 on the season with a 2.86 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 44 innings. Gottfried picked up the win at Gardner-Webb after allowing one unearned run in seven innings against the Runnin' Bulldogs. In four Big South starts, Gottfried is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 21-1/3 innings.
After High Point picked up a 5-2 win to open the series on Saturday, Coastal Carolina tied it at a game apiece with a 17-5 win on Sunday.
Junior
Andre Scrubb took the loss on the mound for the Panthers on Sunday and dropped to 6-4 on the season. The right-hander allowed 10 earned runs on seven hits and eight walks in 2-1/3 innings while striking out four.

Bobby Holmes picked up a win for CCU and improved to 4-1. Holmes gave up five earned runs on six hits and two walks in six innings of work and struck out four.
Sophomore
Spencer Brown set a new career high with three hits on the day, including a double, to go along with an RBI and two runs scored. Junior
Chris Clare and sophomore
Carson Jackson joined Brown with multiple hits on the day for HPU. Clare went 2-4 with two RBI and Jackson finished 2-4 with a double. Junior
Josh Greene had two RBI despite not recording a hit on the day.
