HIGH POINT, N.C. - The High Point University men's basketball program (2-1) will honor the United States Armed Forces Saturday in the Millis Center when the Panthers play host to Navy in the HPU Classic.
Tip-off between the Panthers and Midshipmen is set for 4 p.m. North Dakota State and UNCG will follow at 7 p.m. HPU will welcome a number of veterans to attend Saturday's game and play military hymns at media timeouts throughout the contest.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Big South Network, featuring commentary from Ford Martin and Colin Giuliani. There will be no High Point Panthers Radio Network broadcast Saturday, but Brian Boesch and Stafford Stephenson will be back on the call Sunday at 12:30 p.m. when the Panthers take on North Dakota State.

• High Point opened the HPU Classic with a 63-57 victory over UNCG Friday night inside the Millis Center.
• The Panthers limited UNCG to 36.1 percent shooting (22-61), including a 26.7 percent (8-30) mark in the first half. It marked the second time in three games HPU has held its opponent under 40 percent shooting this season.
• Sophomore 
Andre Fox followed up his career-best 23-point effort at Virginia Tech Tuesday with another big outing against UNCG. He notched 20 points (7-12 FG), six rebounds and registered career bests in steals (4) and blocks (3).
• Fox ranks second in the Big South in scoring (19.0 ppg) and also ranks in the top-10 in FG% (6th, .541), steals (7th, 2.0), blocks (7th, 1.3), 3pt FG made (8th, 2.3) and offensive rebounds/game (t-8th, 2.3).
• Freshman point guard 
Jamal Wright dished out six assists vs. the Spartans and chipped in 11 points and two steals. He is second in the Big South in assists/game (4.7) and sixth in steals/game (2.3) and assist/turnover ratio (2.8).
• Redshirt-senior 
Miles Bowman Jr. scored in double figures for the third time in as many games, registering 12 points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes of work. Bowman Jr. leads the Big South in rebounding (9.0 rpg).
• HPU will look to improve to 3-0 at home Saturday. It would mark the second-straight year the Panthers have done so.
• HPU is 33-5 in its last 38 home games. High Point will play four of its first five games of the 2016-17 inside the Millis Center. It's the first time the Panthers have hosted at least four of their first five games at home since the 2001-02 campaign.

Saturday's game marks the first-ever meeting between Navy and High Point in men's basketball.
HISTORY vs. PATRIOT LEAGUE OPPONENTS
The Panthers are 2-3 (.400) overall in five all-time games against current members of the Patriot League. HPU's most common opponents are American (1-1) and Loyola (Md.) (1-1). Both of HPU's matchups with American came in the program's inaugural season in 1927-28. In the most recent meeting with a Patriot League foe, HPU topped Loyola, 63-57, on Dec. 22, 2006 in the Millis Center.
A LOOK AT THE MIDSHIPMEN (1-2, 0-0 PATRIOT)
Navy was picked eighth out of 10 teams in the Patriot League preseason poll. The Midshipmen opened the HPU Classic with a 66-59 setback to North Dakota State on Friday afternoon. The Midshipmen lead the Patriot league in scoring defense (63.7 ppg) and are second in the conference in rebounding margin (+6.7). Navy is led by sophomore guard Hassan Abdullah, who averages 12.7 points and is shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range. Junior forward Tom Lacey leads the team in rebounding (6.3 rpg) and assists (2.7 apg) while chipping in 7.0 ppg.
