HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's lacrosse team (5-8, 3-1) plays the first of two weekend contests Friday afternoon when the Panthers take on Liberty (6-8, 4-0) in Lynchburg, Va.

First draw between the Panthers and Flames is scheduled for 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Big South Network.

The Panthers are coming off a 21-6 win over Campbell on Sunday inside Vert Stadium. HPU scored five of the first six goals of the game and put together a staggering 15-0 run over a 38-minute stretch midway through the contest to cruise to the victory.

Freshman
Erica Perrotta posted a career-best five points on three goals and two assists to lead HPU offensively. The Roseland, N.J., native also tallied three draw controls and caused a team-high two turnovers on the day. Junior
Allie Foard matched Perrotta with five points (3g, 2a) while fellow junior
Emily Meier added two goals and two assists while picking up two draw controls against the Camels.

OFFENSIVE BATTLE ON TAPFriday's matchup between High Point and Liberty pits the top two offensive teams in the Big South against each other. In league games, Liberty leads the conference in scoring (21.25 goals/game) and points (31.25) while High Point is second in goals/game (17.75) and points (26.75/game). HPU leads the conference in shot on goal percentage (.542) and Liberty is second at .506.

HISTORY vs. LIBERTYHigh Point is 4-0 all-time against the Flames, including a 2-0 mark in Lynchburg. Last season, the Panthers won at Liberty, 17-5, on April 11.
Kendyl Gardner led the Panthers with four goals and an assist in the victory.

A LOOK AT THE FLAMES (6-8, 4-0)Liberty was picked to finish fourth in the 2015 Big South preseason poll. The Flames posted a 2-8 non-conference record but have won their first four league contests. Liberty is led by freshman attack Katy Pridemore who leads the team with 51 points (39g, 12a). Redshirt-senior Morgan Becker has matched Pridemore with 51 points (30g, 21a) and leads the Big South with 7.50 points/game in league play. Junior goalkeeper Juliann Elmer leads the nation in saves (171) and saves/game (12.21).
