CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The High Point University baseball team dropped a rain-shortened game at North Carolina by a score of 1-0 in six innings on Tuesday night in Chapel Hill, N.C. The game was called after a one hour and 10 minute rain delay.

"There is not a lot to say about tonight's game," head coach Craig Cozart said. "Hennessey gave us a chance and put us in position to win a game but the hits and runs aren't coming right now. We need to figure some things out offensively before we head into the weekend against Presbyterian College."

Junior Michael Hennessey allowed just one run in five innings of work but took the loss, dropping to 1-4 on the season. Hennessey gave up three hits and five walks while striking out two.

Hunter Williams earned the win for UNC, improving to 4-1. The lefthander allowed just three hits while striking out seven in six innings.

High Point drops to 17-18 overall with the loss while the Tar Heels improve to 23-14.

North Carolina scored the only run of the game in the second inning when Alex Raburn led off with a double and came around to score on an RBI double by Korey Dunbar.

There were two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning when heavy rain forced the game to be delayed. The delay lasted for an hour and 10 minutes before the contest was called.

High Point returns home to host a three-game series against Presbyterian College beginning on Friday, April 17. The first game of the weekend series is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
