Live VideoHIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University volleyball team heads south for its rescheduled match with Charleston Southern set for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Buc Dome.
The Panthers (15-7, 5-1) are off to their best start in conference play in five years and have won 10 of their last 11 matches. Meanwhile, the Bucs (6-17, 1-5) are coming off a huge 5-set victory at Radford.
The two teams were originally schedule to play on Oct. 3, but inclement weather caused by Hurricane Joaquin caused the match's postponement.
Last Time Out:The Purple & White continued their stellar play in the Millis Center with a 4-set win over Winthrop on Friday. The team followed that up with a sweep of Presbyterian on Saturday. The Panthers were led by freshman
Molly Livingston who posted 2.57 kills per set and hit .421 on the weekend.
Defensively, HPU completely shut down its opponents' offensive attacks. The squad limited Winthrop to a .156 hitting percentage before allowing the Blue Hose to a hit just .026. As always, senior
Annemarie Chin led the defense with 5.29 digs per set while the front line tallied 2.43 blocks per set.
Scouting the Bucs:After posting a 4-12 non-conference record, Charleston Southern dropped its first five Big South matches. However, the team bounced back with a 3-2 triumph at Radford on Saturday to earn its first league win of the year.
Defense is the name of the game for the Bucs in 2015. CSU is second in the Big South with 16.72 digs per set – led by senior Ashley Higginbothem's 4.98 digs per frame – while holding opponents to a .174 attack percentage. At the net, sophomore Kylie Klein paces the team with 1.02 blocks per set. On the offensive side, senior Katrina Houston paces the Bucs with 2.86 kills per set.
Last Time They Met:The Panthers and Bucs squared off twice last season with HPU earning a 3-set win at home and a 4-set triumph on the road. Sophomore
Haley Barnes averaged 3.43 kills and 2.14 digs per set against CSU in 2014 including a 14-kill, 12-dig outing in the Buc Dome. Redshirt-junior
Savannah Angel also played well against CSU posting 2.71 kills and 0.86 block per frame last year.
Panther Notes:• The Panthers are 5-1 in conference play, which marks their best start since 2010 (7-1).

Annemarie Chin continues to pace the league and ranks sixth in the nation with 5.75 digs per set.
• Chin passed Audie Gonzalez (2006-10) for second in HPU's Division I career digs last with 1,727 in her career. Chin only trails Julie Hershkowitz (2007-10) who registered 2,416 digs in her HPU career.

Haley Barnes has racked up 13 double-doubles in 2015 and is averaging 3.46 kills and 2.95 digs per set.
• Freshman
Molly Livingston has moved up to fifth in the conference with a .311 attack percentage after hitting over .400 in six of her last seven outings.
• As a team, HPU sits atop the Big South with 17.38 digs per set, which is good for sixth nationally.
Next Up: The second of six straight road matches for the Purple & White comes on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:00 p.m. when the team heads to Buies Creek, N.C. to play Campbell.
