Former High Point Univeristy track & field athletes Taylor Milne and Eugene Galloway were selected the Big South Conference's Indoor Track & Field All-Decade Team. The league is announcing its All-Decade teams in honor of the 30th anniversary of the conference.
Milne was a four-time champion and four-time All-Conference team member while he was a student-athlete at HPU from 2001-05. He was an individual champion in the 2003 indoor season in both the 800-meter and mile and in the 3,000-meter and mile in 2004. Milne became High Point's first NCAA Div. Outdoors, Milne won an individual championship as a sophomore in the 1,500-meter and again won the event as a senior in 2005 before going on to run for Canada in the 2008 Olympics. Milne still holds the HPU indoor-record in the mile with a time of 4:02.18 and 3,000-meters with a mark of 8:13.43. He is also a member of the 4x400-meter team that holds the HPU indoor-record by crossing in 3:19.81. Milne also holds the outdoor record in the 1,500-meters in 3:43.99 and was named the 2003 Big South Most Outstanding Indoor Track Performer.
Galloway was a two-time champion and four-time All-Conference selection while at High Point from 2003-07. Galloway won back-to-back indoor championships in the triple jump in 2006 and 2007. Galloway had marks of 14.60 meters (47-11) and 14.33 meters (47-0.25) in those two championship seasons. He also was a champion in the event during the 2006 outdoor season with a distance of 14.71 meters (48-3.25). Galloway was also a member of the 2006 Big South All-Academic Team.
