All five High Point starters finished in double figures in scoring as the High Point University women's basketball team picked up a 79-60 win over UNC Greensboro at the Fleming Gymnasium in Greensboro, N.C., on Tuesday night.
“This was probably the best road performance we have had all year,” head coach Tooey Loy said. “We played simple basketball with great intensity. He starting five all scoring in double digits was an amazing performance. It is tough when you have been on the road as long as we have and all the credit goes to the girls.”

Mackenzie Maier led the team with 19 points in the contest and was joined in double figures by senior
Frances Fields with 18, senior
Jurica Hargraves with 12, junior
Shamia Brown with 12 and senior
Amy Dodd with 11. The five starters combined for 72 of the Panther's 79 points.
HPU took control of the game with a 21-4 run that took 7:26 and spanned both halves.
With the game tied at 25-25 and 3:25 left in the first half, sophomore

Jazmin Cromartie had a put back as the Panthers outscored UNCG 7-2 over the rest of the period to go into the locker room at the half with a 32-27 lead.
HPU continued its run to start the second half, outscoring the Spartans 14-2 to push its lead to 17, 46-29, with just under 16 minutes left in the contest. Maier scored eight of High Point's 14 points with two three pointers and a long jump shot. The Panthers connected on all six of their field goals to start the half while limiting the Spartans to 1-6 from the floor and forcing two turnovers on the defensive end.
UNC Greensboro cut the HPU lead to 10 on several occasions in the second half but could never get the game back to single digits as High Point eventually pulled away to pick up the 79-60 win.
High Point shot 70.4 percent (19-27) from the field in the second half including a 5-8 clip from behind the arc. The Panthers' 51.6 field goal percentage (32-62) for the game is the best of the season.
Early in the contest, High Point led by one when Brown, Hargraves and Fields connected on three-straight baskets to go up, 13-6, forcing UNCG to call timeout with just under 16 minutes left in the first half. The Panthers continued their run following the timeout, pushing it to 11-2, to go up by a score of 18-8 with 13 minutes left in the half.
The Spartans used a 7-0 run to pull within three, 18-15, but two quick jumpers by Fields and Brown pushed the HPU lead back to seven at 22-15 with 10 minutes remaining in the period.
UNCG slowly crept back into the game over the next five minutes, using a 10-3 run to tie High Point, 25-25, with a little over three minutes remaining in the half.
Fields set a new career high with 18 points and also had five assists, five rebounds and four steals while Brown finished one rebound shy of a double-double with a game-best nine. Reynolds dished out a career-high six assists to lead High Point.
With the win, HPU moves back to .500 on the season with a 5-5 record. The Panthers finish their seven-game road trip with a 3-4 record. UNC Greensboro falls to 2-5 with the loss.
High Point returns to the Millis Center for the first time in almost a month on Saturday, Dec. 11, when the Panthers host Bluefield College. Tip-off for the contest is set for 7 p.m.
