Box Score A 17-3 run over the final five minutes in the first half sparked the High Point men's basketball team to an 80-68 road victory over Longwood University on Saturday afternoon at Willett Hall.
The Panthers (3-3) snapped a two-game road losing skid as a quartet of HPU players tallied double-digit points, led by a season-best 29 points from senior Arizona Reid. Longwood fell to 2-7 on the year after suffering their sixth consecutive loss.

"Overall it was a good team effort that I'm very proud of," said HPU head coach Bart Lundy. "We tried some different things on defense tonight. I thought we definitely got better with this game. It is always a good thing for team's to get road wins because they are sometimes very difficult to come by. We just need to continue working hard and trying to improve every day."

HPU controlled the play for most of the second half as Longwood got no closer than nine points (47-38) during the final 20 minutes. Campbell and Burns combined for back-to-back treys again midway through the second half pushing the Panthers to an 18-point advantage, that grew to as large as 20 (66-46) with 8:36 left in the game.
