High Point claimed a 4-3 win over Charleston Southern Sunday in the final game of the Big South weekend series. The Buccaneers took the first two games, 8-5 and 14-4.

Brandon Moore (3-0) earned his third win, while Matt Kniginyzky picked up his fifth save for HPU. Ian Holmen (1-3) took the loss for CSU.

High Point improves to 16-20 on the season (5-7 in Big South), while the Buccaneers fall to 19-15, 7-8 in league play.

The Panthers scored two runs in the fourth inning to pull ahead. Bobby Brown had two hits, two RBI and scored the winning run to lead the way offensively for High Point.

Kniginyzky tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn the save. He allowed just two hits and one walk, while striking out five.

Drew Grosse, Brad Woods, and Jeff Kolhagen all scored in the top of the second to put Charleston Southern on top, 3-0.

Brown flied out to center field to score Seby Renta in the second inning to get the Panthers on the board. Ro Castro singled up the middle allowing Dustin Holtzman to cross the plate.

In the bottom of the fourth, Brown tripled to right center to score Holtzman to tie the game at 3-3. Juan Carcheri drove in Brown to put HPU on top, 4-3.

Moore allowed three runs in 3.2 innings of work and struck out only one Buccaneer. Holmen went 3.1 innings for CSU, allowing four runs, four hits and three walks while striking out two.

High Point visits Elon on Tuesday (7:00 pm) and then travels to Radford for a weekend series starting Friday at 3:00 pm.
