The High Point University women's basketball team fell to Bucknell, 71-60, today in the consolation game of the Air Force Classic.

High Point's Candyce Sellars led with 16 points. Freshman Caitlin Thys had her first career double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

The Bison were led by Hope Foster who had 24 points and 18 rebounds. Amanda Brown had 13 points while Corrine Keller added 12.

High Point led in the early minutes of the game, but a jumper by Bucknell's Amanda Brown at the 11:46 mark put the Bison up by two and they would never look back. The Bison took a 16 point lead into the intermission.

In the second half Bucknell came out strong and had its largest lead of the game at the 18:50 point when Kesha Champion hit a jumper to put the team up by 20, but the Panthers would not go away.

High Point began a long battle back, holding the Bison scoreless between 14:21 and 10:56 left in the game. The Bison were only 10-of-31 from the field in the second half.

The Panthers had a chance to take the lead when Raven Truslow hit a lay up at the four minute mark to cut the lead to two. Despite HPU's efforts that would be the closest that the team would come to overtaking the Bison. Bucknell went eight of eleven down the stretch from the free throw line to seal the victory.

Bucknell shot 40 percent from the field while High Point only shot 31. The Bison also held the slight advantage in the rebounding category, 51-49.

Sellars was named to the All-Tournament Team.
