Box Score Laura Rudolphi scored 11 points and Melanie Boeglin added 10 points to lead Indiana State to a 70-47 win over High Point Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Image Depot Classic in Tampa, Fla.
Emily Mills led the shorthanded Panthers (2-7) with career-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
Amber Bryant narrowly missed a double-double of her own with eight points and nine rebounds (both career-highs).
High Point, which was without the services of leading scorer and rebounder Katie O'Dell for the second consecutive game, was just 3-of-20 (15 percent) from three-point range and shot 31 percent from the floor overall. The Panthers did hold a 44-43 edge on the boards.
Indiana State (7-2) had six players score at least eight points apiece in a balanced offensive attack.
The Panthers scored seven of the game's first nine points to jump out to a 7-2 lead after Sarah Haak made a jumper at the 17:03 mark. High Point led 11-7 before the Sycamores built a 23-2 run to grab control and take a 30-13 advantage. ISU led 45-22 at halftime.
The game was the 2004 finale for the Panthers, who return to action on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at home against Appalachian State. Tip-off in the Millis Center is set for 2:00 pm.
