Campbell hit a season-high four home runs and got eight strong innings from starter Rob Finch to top High Point, 9-4, Wednesday night in Buies Creek.

The Camels improve to 19-24 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 12-34 after dropping their seventh in a row.

Finch picked up his third win of the season (3-4), allowing four runs on eight hits and striking out three without allowing a walk. High Point starter Toby Hoskins (1-5) was saddled with the loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits in four innings of work.

The Camels got three of their home runs with two out in the bottom of the third inning. Tom Rispoli began the rally with a double off the left field wall. Jason Brown followed with his ninth home run of the year, giving the Camels a 2-0 lead. Derek Barrows then followed with a line drive home run to left field to extend the Camel lead to 3-0. Kyle Ellenz drew a walk and Chris Wiley belted his first homer of the year over the left field wall, staking the Camels to a 5-0 lead.
    
The Panthers answered back with a two-out rally of their own in the fourth inning. After a single to right field by Kemp Smith, Ken Keesee was hit by Finch pitch, putting runners on first and second. Mike Bruschuk followed with an RBI double, scoring both Smith and Keesee. Mark Shorey doubled to drive Bruschuk home, cutting the CU lead to 5-3.
    
The Camels added a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth inning. After loading the bases, Wiley walked to force home Rispoli for the sixth Camel run. Lonnie Whitehead had a sacrifice fly to score Brown and give the Camels a 7-3 lead.

Smith accounted for the fourth High Point run with a one out homer to left off Finch, making the score 7-4.

Rispoli added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth inning by hitting a two-run home run off High Point reliever Travis Motsinger.

Rispoli finished the game going 4-4 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored. Smith led the Panthers with two hits an RBI and two runs scored.

High Point opens a three-game Big South series with Winthrop Friday at 3:00 pm.
