Matt Kniginyzky threw 8 2/3 innings for his first win as a Panther and Nick Thompson hit a two-run homer as High Point downed Buffalo, 3-1, Saturday afternoon in the second game of a three-game set at Erath Field.

HPU (5-10) will go for the sweep of the Bulls (1-5) Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.

Kniginyzky (1-3) fanned eight in 8 2/3 innings of work, while Mark Shorey nabbed his second save of the series and third overall.

Anthony Bell went 2-for-3 at the plate and added a late-inning RBI which sealed the deal.
