Baseball Falls At Wofford,9-1

George Lehr allowed just one run over eight innings to improve his record to 10-1 while Kyle Raulinaitis delivered a three-run triple to highlight a five-run first inning in Wofford's 9-1 victory over High Point Tuesday in Spartanburg, S.C.

Lehr, making just his second start of the season, scattered eight hits while striking out five and walking two.

The Terriers (20-16) have now reached 20 victories for the first time since the 1991 team posted a school record 30 wins.  High Point drops to 17-15.

Freshman catcher Scott Holloway had three hits for the Terriers.  He opened the bottom of the first inning with a bunt single and later beat out a grounder to short for his second hit of the game.  He added a single in the eighth inning.

High Point's lone run came on an RBI single by Jayson Hoffman in the fourth inning.

David White (2-5) took the loss for the Panthers.  He allowed five unearned runs on five hits over four innings.  He struck out five and walked four.

High Point heads to Conway, S.C., this weekend for a huge three-game series with Coastal Carolina. The opener is a Saturday doubleheader (1:00 pm).
