Kevin Burch and Chris Chandler combined for the Panthers' first shutout of the season as High Point earned a doubleheader split with Wofford after a 2-0 victory in Game 2 Saturday afternoon.
Burch threw six shutout innings to collect his second win of the year (2-0), while Chandler worked out of a seventh-inning jam to earn his second save.
The Panthers (4-2) got both of their runs in the 3rd inning. Colin Cronin managed a two-out single and advanced to third when Matt O'Neil reached on an error by Terriers second baseman Kyle Raulinaitis. Cronin scored and O'Neil advanced to second on a wild pitch, and then Michael Lowman drove O'Neil home with a single.
In the first game of the twin-bill, Wofford scored two runs off David White in the 7th inning to provide the winning margin for a 3-1 win.
High Point takes a few days off before a home-and-home series next weekend with Gardner-Webb. The Panthers and Bulldogs will play Saturday at 1:00 pm at Boiling Springs before returning to High Point for a 1:00 pm contest on Sunday.
