High Point overcame a 4-0 hole and put together three big innings to post a 10-5 victory over visiting Davidson in baseball action Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Panthers, who improve to 6-4 on the season.
Trailing 4-0, the Panthers began to chip away at the Wildcats' lead in the bottom of the 3rd. Ryan Thiede laced a two-out, two-run double down the left-field line which scored Justin Keegan and Michael Lowman to pull HPU within 4-2.
The Panthers added another run in the 4th, and then exploded for three runs in the 6th and four in the 7th to put the game away. In the 7th, High Point sent nine men to the plate, including Andy Harney, who crushed a ball deep into the left-field corner to score Keegan and Thiede.
Riley Gostisha (2-1) threw six innings to get the win for High Point. Clayton Gordner threw three scoreless innings in relief for his second save of the season.
High Point hosts Niagara at Alumni Field Sunday. First pitch is set for 1:00 pm.
