UNC Wilmington got 17 points from Jen Kapper and 11 points from Jeri Lynn Coker to finish off the Panthers, 66-53, in an in-state women's basketball clash.
The Panthers (4-5) shot just 1-of-10 from three-point range and were outrebounded 46-33. UNCW (3-2) got a game-high 12 boards from Vickey Harper, who also recorded three blocks.
After being held scoreless in the first half, High Point leading scorer Mary Brewer tossed in 12 second-half points to lead the Panthers in scoring. Misty Brockman (11 points) and Stephanie Scott (10 points) also finished in double-figures.
The Seahawks led 29-25 and didn't trail after the game's opening ten minutes.
High Point's Narelle Henry recorded a game-high 10 assists, while Scott and Gina Rosser had three and two blocks, respectively.
