Four High Point players reached double-figures in kills, but Liberty's Rachel Harnack proved too tough as the Flames doused the Panthers in four games, 15-30, 30-24, 30-15, and 30-22, in a Big South conference match Wednesday night.
Playing their first home match in nearly a month, the Panthers game the Millis Center crowd plenty to cheer about early. The Panthers took the first game on the strength of six kills by junior Kimberly Wright, but dropped three straight to the Flames following their opening-game victory.
Harnack led the Flames (12-8, 7-1 Big South) with 22 kills. Jennifer Belk had 16 digs and 12 kills, and Erin McKeown added 13 digs.
High Point (4-21, 1-8) got strong efforts from junior Tracyann Pryce (13 kills), Lindsey Steinhaus (12 kills, 11 digs), and Casi Baker (19 digs).
