2007 | Baseball
April 13, 2007, had two historic moments in High Point baseball history as the Panthers hosted a home night game for the first time in team history and also beat a ranked opponent for the first time with a 4-3 victory over No. 19 Coastal Carolina. Eammon Portice started on the hill for HPU and struck out 11 Chanticleers in six innings while allowing just four hits and all three runs, none of which were earned. The Purple and White did their damage offensively in the first, scoring all four runs in the opening frame and all with two outs. High Point's offense continued to attack the Coastal Carolina pitching staff throughout the game, finishing with 13 hits to the visitors' five. Billy Alvino and Pablo Rosario led the way with three hits each while Bill Manion and Alfie Wheeler each contributed a pair. Glenn Jones and Tom Boleska pitched the final three innings of the game for HPU and allowed just one hit, with Boleska notching his fourth save of the season in the victory.

2014 | Baseball
Six years ago today the Panthers played the longest game in their Division I history, a four hour and 45 minute, 16-inning loss to VMI that saw 18 runners stranded by High Point. VMI brought around two runs in the top of the third on an error but HPU responded in the fourth with a two-out, two-RBI single from Brady Williamson. The Purple and White had runners make it to third twice in the following innings but couldn't bring any around to score and held VMI off the board the next five innings to send the game to extras. High Point looked like it might end the game in the 11th but Chris Clare was thrown out at the plate from right field to neutralize the threat and keep the marathon game going. VMI had the bases loaded with one out in the 14th inning but the Panthers turned a 6-4-3 double play to get out of the inning still tied. That tie was eventually broken by the Keydets with two runs in the top of the 16th from a triple and a sacrifice fly. HPU didn't have an answer in the bottom of the inning, going 1-2-3 to end the game.
