CHARLOTTE, N.C. — High Point University swept the Big South Conference Women's Golf weekly awards as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Makayla Grubb earns her first Big South Golfer of the Week this season, while Francesca Pencelli is awarded Big South Freshman of the Week for the first time in her career.

Grubb was the medalist at the Lady Paladin Invitational (par 72, 6,335 yards) with a 14-under par 202 (67-68-67), the lowest under-par score in the conference since the 2023 fall season. She won by four strokes and recorded the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history. Grubb's first and final round 67s tied her collegiate low, and she set the school record for lowest 36-hole score (135). 

She led the 71-player field with 18 birdies — including five in her final seven holes, in addition to ranking tops in par-4 scoring (-6) and par-5 scoring (-8) to help the Panthers finish as the team runner-up.
 
Pencelli made her collegiate debut as an individual at the Lady Paladin Invitational and finished with a 10-over par 226 (77-75-74).  She made five birdies, and her 36 pars were sixth-most in the field and the most of any High Point golfer competing.  She improved every round and tied for 43rd overall.
