CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced its women's soccer weekly awards as High Point University's Aleena Ulke was selected as Defensive Player of the Week and Chloe Edwards was named the Freshman of the Week, which was released on Monday afternoon.

Edwards scored the second-half game-winning goal to lift High Point over Longwood and open conference play with a victory. The freshman broke a 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal in the 75th minute, firing a shot into the bottom-left corner for her first career game-winning goal and second score of the season. She put both of her shots on goal while playing 40 minutes, helping the Panthers open the Big South season with a win for the first time since 2024.

Ulke scored her first career collegiate goal to help lift High Point to a 2-1 road win at Longwood in Saturday's conference opener. The graduate defender opened the scoring in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick and slipping the ball past the Lancer goalkeeper to put the Panthers ahead, 1-0. After Longwood equalized seven minutes later, Ulke helped HPU keep the Lancers off the board the rest of the way, including limiting Longwood to just two shots on goal in the second half. Ulke's goal came on her only shot of the match, just her third of the season, while playing 53 minutes.
