CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ahead of Big South Conference Men's Soccer play beginning, the league head coaches submitted and voted on the 2026 Midseason Watch List, which was announced on Thursday. Each team could select any three players to be included on the Watch List based on their season-to-date performance, during the non-conference portion of the season, as the Preseason Players of the Year who were automatically included.
The Panthers had seven named to the Big South Midseason Watch List as
Daniel Lugo,
Koven Johnson,
Ryan Behrmann,
Aidan Morrison,
Roman Holt,
Noah Behrmann, and
Josh Caron represented HPU.
Lugo, the Big South Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, has played in all seven games while scoring a team-tying high three goals in 482 minutes. He has netted goals against Long Island, No. 11 Virginia and Georgetown.
Morrison has started and played in every game (7) while scoring the game-winning goal at No. 11 Virginia on Aug. 24. The William & Mary transfer also has an assist in 554 minutes, including two full-time starts alongside
Ryan Behrmann in the midfield. Behrmann has started and played in five games with 401 minutes and four shots to account for.
Johnson, the Big South Preseason Midfielder of the Year, has had an injury-riddled start as his only minutes (45) came at #4 Georgetown. He's working hard to get back on the field healthy for league play.
Noah Behrmann has a team-leading four assists through seven starts and one full-time match. He's played 555 minutes and helped the Panthers earn their first clean sheet victory while assisting on the game-winning goal Tuesday at Davidson.
Holt, the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, has three full-time starts of his seven in 566 minutes on the pitch. The centre-back captain has been a vital piece of the back line, including multiple blocked shots on goal in the Panthers' clean sheet victory at Davidson on Tuesday.
Caron, the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, has started in every game (7) for the Panthers with 23 saves on 97 shots faced. Caron, a team captain, earned his first collegiate assist at No. 11 Virginia and his first clean sheet of the season at Davidson.
