COLUMBUS, Ohio – During the week of July 7-12, High Point University Volleyball had two athletes compete for Team Canada in the U21 Pan American Cup. Maya Bukovcan and Élodie Lalonde helped Canada bring home its first-ever silver medal on Sunday at the Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio.
 
Following the week, Bukovcan was awarded two awards for her performances, the Best Server and 2nd Blocker of the tournament. She led the tournament in service aces with 11 and posted 14 blocks for the second most in the tournament.
 

"Representing Canada at the U21 Pan Am Cup was an incredible honour and something I'll never take for granted," Bukovcan stated. "Wearing the maple leaf and competing alongside such an amazing group of athletes is an experience I'll always be proud of. While coming away with silver wasn't the result we were chasing, I'm so proud of what this team accomplished. Being named Best Server and Best Blocker is an incredible honour, but what I'll remember most is how much I grew as a player and person throughout the tournament, and the connections I had the privilege of making. I'm so grateful to my teammates, coaches, and everyone who supported us along the way. This experience has only made me more motivated to keep improving, and I can't wait for what's next."
 
 
Both Bukovcan and Lalonde will return for the 2026 season with the Panthers.
