Head Coach Chelsea Banbury: "Happy to get the win on the road but thought we had a bit of a sloppy start. We need to do a better job executing for 40 minutes but I thought Macy [Spencer] and Anna [Hager] were excellent for us tonight."
High Point set the tone early, jumping out to a 23-15 lead after finding it's rhythm late in the opening quarter.
Macy Spencer found the net early knocking down shots while
Aaliyah Collins disrupted the defense and drove to the rim. The Panthers extended the margin in the second quarter closing the half on a late run to take a 40-24 advantage into the break.
HPU took full control in the second half, holding Presbyterian to just 19 points over the final 20 minutes. The Panthers pushed the lead to double digits early in the third and outscored the Blue Hose 22–9 in the fourth to close out the road win.
Spencer led High Point with 21 points, marking her ninth 20-plus point game of the season, while Anna Hager followed with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Chana Paxixe added 10 points off the bench, and Collins contributed eight points and four assists in limited minutes.
Dom Nesland,
Peyton Gerdes, and
Nevaeh Zavala all pulled down four rebounds in tonight's contest.
High Point shot 48.9 percent from the field, forced 20 turnovers, and finished with 21 points off turnovers in the victory.
