High Point Selected Preseason No. 1 for Second Consecutive Year in Blue Ribbon Forecast

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Chris Dortch, the editor and publisher of the Blue Ribbon Basketball Yearbook, has announced the selections for the 2025-26 Big South Conference Men's Basketball preseason rankings. After a historic season winning the Big South Regular Season and Tournament title in 2024-25, the Panthers were picked as the Blue Ribbon preseason favorite. Rob Martin was voted the Preseason Newcomer of the Year and to the All-Conference selection after transferring from Southeast Missouri State University. High Point was also voted the top front court and back courts in the league.

Martin was a First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection for Southeast Missouri following the 2024-25 regular season. He led the team with 14.8 points per game and scored 20+ points in seven games with a career-high 31 points at SIUE (Feb. 27, 2025) after going 13-for-19 from the field (68.4%). As a point guard, he led the Ohio Valley Conference in assist rate last season with a 2.63 ratio while averaging 4.7 assists per game. Martin helped lead SEMO to its second most wins in its programs division history with 21 wins. 
 
High Point begins the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game at reigning CAA Champs UNCA on October 18 at Trask Coliseum in Wilmngton, North Carolina before hosting a home exhibition on October 25 against NC A&T. Fans can purchase season tickets for the upcoming season by clicking HERE.
