CHARLOTTE, N.C. — High Point University women's golf team swept the Big South Conference weekly awards.
Anna Howerton was named Big South Golfer of the Week, while
Anais Arafi was named Big South Freshman of the Week, which the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Howerton won her second Big South Weekly Honor (March 27) after performing at the Low Country Intercollegiate. Howerton's performances this weekend landed her seventh on the leaderboard at the Terrapin Invitational. Howerton carded an even 72 in round two and rounded the tournament with a 76. Howerton carded six birdies across the tournament.
Afafi won her fifth Big South Freshman of the Week honor following her performance at the Terrapin Invitational. She carded 73 in the first round and had a very impressive round two with a 3-under-par 69. She finished out the tournament with a 75. She battled throughout the whole tournament to place fifth overall, which marks the freshman's best finish this year.
