CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The High Point University men's soccer team dominated the playing field all season, cruising to an undefeated 7-0 conference record and the dominance continued when the Big South Conference announced end-of-year awards on Tuesday afternoon.
High Point won all major annual awards, becoming the first Big South school to sweep all eight accolades:
Daniel Lugo, Big South Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year;
Jefferson Amaya, Big South Midfielder of the Year;
Lukas Kamrath, Big South Defensive Player of the Year;
Josh Caron, Big South Goalkeeper of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year;
Prosper Adagani, Big South Freshman of the Year; High Point, Big South Coaching Staff of the Year. In all, the Panthers had six honored with first team honors, three on the all-freshman team and nine total student-athletes recognized.
The Panthers repeated as Big South regular-season champions for the third straight season and have been ranked in 15 straight regular-season national polls while being ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation. In seven matches, High Point outscored Big South opponents 22-1, which is the best goal differential in conference history. HPU also continued its unbeaten conference road streak to 10 years as the Panthers haven't lost a conference road match since Sept. 17, 2016 at Presbyterian.
High Point's success was backed by discipline as the least-carded team in the league with only 17 cards. The Panthers proved to be an all-around team, leading the Big South in team scoring average (2.313) and goals against average (0.69), while being one of six teams with a top-15 offense and defense in the country. HPU finished the regular-season 11-1-4 behind the fewest home games of any team in the Top 35, while playing the second-most Quad1 games (seven) in the country.
Head Coach
Zach Haines, who won three straight Big South Coach of the Year awards from 2022 to 2024 and is 14th amongst active DI head coaches in the country with a 68% winning percentage, now leads his staff to Big South Coaching Staff of the Year in the award's first year given.

Lugo is the fourth Panther to earn this honor and next since Amaya in 2023.
#4 Jefferson Amaya, Sr., Midfielder: Big South Midfielder of the Year, First Team
Amaya has made his mark at High Point and the Big South as he won a major award each season he's laced up. Amaya has continually been an anchor for the Panthers, starting in all 16 games while logging 1198 minutes and scoring three goals — one being a game-winner — and assisting four with one multi-assist match versus ranked Marshall. The redshirt junior goalkeeper has started in all 16 games — with seven complete shutouts and eight combined clean sheets — on 138 shots faced in 1422 minutes played for a 11-1-4 record. Caron has been the definition of safe hands all season, allowing just 11 goals for 0.696 goals against average which is 19th best in all of NCAA Division I. Caron follows in the footsteps of the legendary Holden Trent, who was a two-time Big South Goalkeeper of the Year, as he is the first Panther to earn this honor since Trent did in 2021 and 2022. In the classroom, Caron has maintained nearly a 4.0 GPA while studying finance to become the first Panther named Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year since Noah Holmes in 2023.

The Ghanian forward has scored six goals — two matches with a brace — while assisting on one and netting a pair of game-winning scores in just 592 minutes. In his first full regular-season competing, Holt was essential on the backline as he started and played in all 16 matches with 1364 minutes logged. The redshirt freshman had one assist and contributed to eight team clean sheets and the 0.69 goals against average tally.
#3 Desmond Mensah, Fr., Defender: Big South All-Freshman Team
