Addison Freeland from the High Point University volleyball team was named the Big South Player of the Week for the first time in her career while
Remy Catojo was named the Setter of the Week for the second time this season. Both players guided High Point in two conference victories over the weekend.
Freeland was a dynamite in the middle for the Panthers. Across both matches she averaged 3.75 kills per set and 4.63 points per set, which led to a new career-high 19 kills versus USC Upstate on Friday night. Overall Freeland hit .482 with a game-high .515 versus the Spartans. On the middle block she averaged 11.50 per set, registering 12 total with a weekend high seven versus USC Upstate.
Catojo was the main distributer for High Point in both matches. She averaged 10.25 assists per set and posted a weekend-high 51 assists versus USC Upstate. Her 51 assists was her third match this season with 50+ assists. Catojo contributed 2.50 digs per set, registering 10 digs in each match. She also put down six kills between the two matches and had five blocks versus UNCA. In the game against the Spartans she served in a season-high three aces.
