CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the second time this season,
Cam'Ron Fletcher, from the High Point University men's basketball team was named the Big South Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Fletcher led the Panthers to three wins last week, in route to a Boardwalk Battle Championship title, earning HPU's first MTE win since the 2022 season.
Fletcher averaged 19.0 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and 1.3 steals per game. Overall, he was very efficient on the offense and shot 62.5% from the field after going 20-for-32, 38.5% from three-point range knocking down 5-of-13 and went a perfect 12-for-12 at the free throw line. In game one at the Boardwalk Battle, he led the team with a career-high 27 points on a 75% shooting clip. In the Boardwalk Battle Championships game, he registered his third double-double of the season scoring 18 points with 10 rebounds. In back-to-back games in Daytona, he splashed in a pair of threes and added three steals. Following the Boardwalk Battle Championship, Fletcher was named the Tournament MVP.
Currently, Fletcher is second in the Big South in scoring, averaging 18.71 points with a 62.0 shooting percentage. He ranks fourth in the league and 22nd in the nation in rebounds averaging 8.14 per game. He is second in the conference in double-doubles with three this season, behind Charleston Southern's Brycen Blaine with four.
High Point will face Western Carolina at the Qubein Center on Saturday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m.
