HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Big South Conference has announced its All-Conference awards as High Point University had four Panthers named to All-Conference teams.
Bella Burr,
Sabba Haghgoo,
Kasey Resker, and
Joellie Giquinto were those tabbed with postseason awards.
#15 Bella Burr, R-So., Midfielder: First Team All-Conference / All-Academic Team
Burr started in 15 of the 16 games played during the regular season, while being the team's leading goal scorer with four goals. She has seen 975 minutes on the pitch, while recording a team-high 31 shots, which includes a game winning goal against UNC Asheville. The Virginia Beach native also found herself on the All-Academic team as she prides herself in putting the student in student-athlete. Majoring in Finance, Burr can juggle both, being a student-athlete and excelling in the classroom all while putting on a show on the pitch.
#4 Sabba Haghgoo, So., Forward: Honorable Mention All-Conference
Starting in all 16 games for the Panthers, Haghgoo has two goals, and one assist for five points. She's played in 978 minutes on the pitch, while tallying 29 shots. Haghgoo scored the equalizer at Winthrop to force a 1-1 draw that put the Panthers into the Big South Tournament.
#19 Joellie Giquinto, Fr., Defender: Big South All-Freshman Team
The 2x Big South Freshman of the Week has played in 13 games, making 11 starts for HPU in her rookie campaign. Scoring one goal and dishing out two assists in her 933 minutes on the pitch. Her first collegiate goal came in game winning fashion as she netted one on home turf against Presbyterian. She followed up her first goal with an assist in the next two games.
#24 Kasey Resker, So., Defender: Big South Second Team All-Conference
The New Jersey native, Resker was a big part of the back line for the Panthers as she played in 15 games, starting 14 of them. She leads the team with three assists and has scored one goal. Playing a total of 1,245 minutes on the pitch, Resker finished the last eight games of the season playing all 90 minutes of the match. Her lone goal of the season was her first career goal which she scored at Charleston Southern. Resker was a part of the three shutouts High Point recorded while being a key part to the Panther defense.
