Charlotte, N.C. – For the first time this season, High Point University volleyball received two Big South Player of the Week awards. Outside hitter, Élodie Lalonde was named the Player of the Week for the second time this season and freshman setter, Remy Catojo earned her first Setter of the Week award.
 
Lalonde averaged 5.88 kills per set and 6.25 points per set in HPU's two games over the weekend. She led both  four-set games in kills with 21 against UNC Asheville and a career-high 26 against USC Upstate, making it her fifth weekend this season with double-digit kills in back-to-back games. With her 47 total kills she hit .293 across both games. She went 100% on receptions in her 31 attempts and totaled 22 digs. Lalonde added four assists, three blocks and a service aces to round out her stats for the weekend.
 
Catojo directed the offense on Friday and Saturday recording 40+ assists in each match to average 10.13 per set. She recorded her second and third games this season with 40+ assists.  On the front line she put down five kills in each game and contributed 4 blocks. She also picked up 23 digs on the weekend with a season-high 16 versus USC Upstate. Catojo was perfect on the serve at UNCA with two aces in her 16 serves.  
 
High Point continues conference play and remains on the road for a matchup at Gardner-Webb on Friday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m..
