HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Big South Conference has announced its weekly awards from October 5 – October 12 as High Point University's Joellie Giquinto was tabbed Freshman of the Week.
 
The Panthers picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Presbyterian. Three different goal scorers lifted HPU over the Blue Hose at Vert Stadium.
 
The first goal of the match which ended up being the game winner came from Giquinto who notched her first-career goal to put the Panthers ahead. In the 30th minute, Giquinto chipped one into an empty net to fire up the offense to give them the early lead before halftime.
 
HPU went on to win the match as Giquinto scored the game winner, followed by goals from Bella Burr, and Morgan Wilcox and backed by a clean sheet from Aubrey McKessy in net.
 
High Point is back on the pitch on Wednesday, October 15 at Radford University. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
