HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University women's soccer team has punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 1 seed University of Virginia on Friday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Charlottesville.
"Super excited about being in the tournament and obviously a big game against UVA," Head Coach Aaron McGuiness said. "They're going to come out strong and we're going to do our best to prepare and put our best foot forward. We will enjoy every minute of it and I'm excited for our team."
High Point captured the Big South crown after defeating USC Upstate in the conference championship match, securing its eighth Big South Tournament title. The Panthers now boast 14 total Big South championships, combining regular season and tournament titles.
Virginia enters the NCAA Tournament with a 12-3-4 overall record and a 6-2-2 mark in ACC play. The Cavaliers fell to Stanford University, 3-2, in the ACC Women's Soccer Tournament but still earned the top seed in the NCAA field.
The Panthers last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2021, also traveling to Virginia for their opening-round match. Four years later, HPU returns to the national stage for a rematch in Charlottesville — the third meeting all-time between the two programs.
