HIGH POINT, N.C. — The High Point University men's lacrosse team capped the regular season with an impressive 17-10 victory over UMass Friday afternoon.

Jack VanOverbeke led the Panthers with three goals and three assists, while
Brayden Mayea scored three goals and five others had two goals.

Head Coach Jon Torpey: "I'm just really proud of our guys' effort. Any time you're playing your final game at home you definitely want to send your seniors out on a high note. And we had a little extra something special today with the game being in honor of Lynn Lee who was the mother of Matty Lee, a guy who graduated for us last year, and she had passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer this fall. To have Matty and his dad be in the locker room before the game, talking to the team, it meant a lot. We wanted to honor Lynn's memory today, we wanted to honor the Lee family and give them a little bit of joy in a really hard time. That's really what this whole things was about, taking care of the seniors and taking care of the Lee family and I'm glad we were able to do that. I thought the guys played in honor of Lynn Lee all day and I couldn't ask for anything more from those guys."
