AMHERST, Mass. – The High Point men's lacrosse team competed in the Atlantic 10 Tournament semifinals on Thursday evening. Taking it down to the wire against the Richmond Spiders in the last seconds of the game, the Panthers came up one goal short, 11-10.
"I was really proud of the way our guys competed tonight and this season," Head Coach
Jon Torpey stated. "I'm truly blessed to coach the most amazing group of guys and work with such a terrific staff. Our seniors gave us their heart and souls these last 4-5 years and it was an honor sharing a sideline with them. One remarkable thing about our culture/program we have here is the fact that since the inception of our program we have never had an issue with a parent, and quite the contrary they have all become great friends of our staff, nor have we ever had a guy graduate that doesn't feel like a son. I'm the luckiest guy in the world. While it's tough to see them go out this way, I wouldn't trade the time we had together for anything. I love our guys and can't thank them enough for making HPU, our program and myself better."
