HPU Women's Golf Sweeps Big South Weekly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — High Point University's Ella Perna and Anna Howerton have been named the Big South Golfer of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively, sweeping the women's category as announced by the conference Friday morning.

Ella Perna had an amazing tournament at the River Landing Classic. The sophomore shot 1-under in the first and third rounds and collected five birdies over the course of the tournament to obtain her highest collegiate finish of T3. Perna's performance led the Panthers to a fifth-place team finish, landing above Big South rival, Charleston Southern University.

Anna Howerton secured a top-30 finish at the River Landing Classic. Howerton shot 2-over in the second to find a 230 total for a T27 placement overall.
