"I'm excited to head back to Rivertowne," HPU Women's Golf Head Coach Lyndsey Hunnell said. "This team has experience there so we will be working this week to replicate what play will be like down there. The ladies are putting in a lot of work this week to be ready for the windy conditions that course can experience, while also taking what we learned playing down at Jacksonville."

High Point had a solid start to the spring slate, finding a fifth place finish out of 15 teams at the Sea Best Intercollegiate. Danielle Suh led the Panthers with an extraordinary performance, highlighted by her first career hole-in-one. Suh's steady shooting led the senior to a top-5 individual finish with a 3-over total. Julia McLaughlin was next on the board for the Panthers, carding 2-under in the first round to find a top-25 finish. Ella Perna was right on the graduate student's tail, securing a T28 finish with a 226 total.

The Panthers saw a few tough opponents at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, many of whom will be participating at the Rivertowne Invitational. Coastal Carolina University will be the most daunting opponent for HPU as the Chanticleers posted a first-place finish in Florida. Costal Carolina's top player was a top-3 finisher, and the second student-athlete on the board found a T9 finish, helping the team to a 883 total.

Another difficult opponent will be the tournament's host, Charleston Southern University. CSU secured a third place finish with the top two players finishing T5 and T13 with a 219 and a 223 score, respectively. Overall, the Buccaneers finished with a 886 total.

Despite the challenges, High Point is prepared for the tough opponents after a couple weeks of rest. Maddie Hensley, a graduate student, is excited for the challenge and happy to be back on the road with her golf family.

"Throughout this season, I want to improve my areas of growth and be able to improve tournament scores," Hensley said. "I'm really excited to play on this course because I know it can be scorable. I want to work on my mental game and this tournament with give me the opportunity to implement what I have worked on since our last tournament. Our goal is to be prepared and reflect so we can be ready for each tournament and learn from each so when the big south gets here we have done the work needed to be our best!"

Suh will be at the top of the lineup for the Panthers at Rivertowne, followed by Perna, Anna Howerton, Hensley, and McLaughlin will round out the lineup. Also attending will be Ana-Elena Kusters as an individual.
