OXFORD, Miss – The High Point University baseball team lost game two of the series, 12-2, in seven innings Saturday night at Ole Miss.

Gus Hughes got the start tonight for the Panthers in game two. Hughes went 4.1 innings, allowing six runs, on four hits, and striking out six.
HPU got its first run of the game in the top of the third as
Sam Schner hit a line drive to right center.
Adam Stuart crossed the plate from second and
Eric Grintz advanced to third.
Hughes ended the third inning with two back-to-back backward Ks as Ole Miss had a 4-1 lead.
Cael Chatham sent another run home in the fifth to cut the lead to 4-2 as he singled to right field, scoring
Konni Durschlag.
The Rebels tallied three more runs in the bottom of the fifth and then another five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Tyler Romanias,
Dalton Williams, and
Braden Halladay were among the other three pitchers to enter the game for HPU.
Ole Miss took game two to even the series heading into the rubber match tomorrow afternoon.
