HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point University Baseball team fell to Appalachian State, 7-1, on Tuesday afternoon.

Dalton Olsovsky, the freshman from Keller, Texas got the ball to start his first game of his collegiate career. A rough first inning led to the Mountaineers to take an early 3-0 lead. A third inning homerun had App State out front 5-0.
Olsovsky threw for three innings before
Adam Grintz took over on the hill. Grintz shut down App State with two innings of work, allowing one hit, and two strikeouts.
Cael Chatham broke up the Mountaineers no hitter with a 349-foot solo shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the sixth. Chatham was handed the ball to pitch in the top of the seventh. In his first Division I appearance on the mound he threw one inning, allowing no hits, and recorded one strikeout.

Up Next: High Point will hit the road for the first time this season to Oxford, Mississippi to face off with Ole Miss for a three-game series. The first game is on Friday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m.
