BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The High Point Panthers volleyball team rounded out the conference road weekend picking up another sweep. Defeating Gardner-Webb, High Point kept the win streak alive with a 6-0 weekend in sets.
A powerhouse on the attack,
Dylan Maberry led the team with 18 kills for a .471 hit percentage after averaging six kills per set.

It was a battle between the Panthers and Runnin' Bulldogs in Boiling Springs on Saturday afternoon. Gardner-Webb came out firing in the first set taking an early hold on High Point, 7-3. HPU turned it around at the 12-8 mark, going on a 7-0 run with the help of two kills, from
Christine Graf and two service aces from
Hannah Hawkins. Pushing through the last 10 points, High Point took the first set 25-21.
Set two witnessed a close back-and-forth affair, tying the game up on 14 different occasions with four lead changes. Sharing the ball on the attack, HPU earned points with kills from
Jayde Shelton,
Eve Wilson, Maberry and Graf. Playing full rotation, Maberry remained a threat on the back row with her strong kills behind the 10-foot line.
Putting in the work on the defensive side,
Jordyn Schilling picked up 18 digs with 14 receptions for a .933 percentage. In the mix of digs, she laid out and popped up a perfect pancake dig in the second set. Adding to her stats, she contributed to eight assists.
After taking set two 25-22, High Point jumped out early in the third. An 8-3 lead was enough to keep the Panthers out front after the Runnin' Bulldogs went on a 7-3 run to close the gap and make it 11-10. Wilson's kill extended the Panthers lead to seven at 20-13. Three straight errors from Gardner-Webb and a final kill for High Point gave HPU the 25-15 victory.
