WEST POINT, N.Y. – The High Point University Panthers played in the team's final game at the Army Invitational against the host Army. Taking it to four sets, the Panthers came out on top with a 3-1 win.
Freshman middle blocker
Eve Wilson led the day with a season-high 11 kills for a .529 hit percentage.
Dylan Maberry trailed with 10 kills while
Christine Graf and
Jayde Shelton added seven a piece. Overall High Point took advantage of Army's mistakes, as West Point collected 35 hitting errors to the Panthers 20.

High Point dominated in the first set, taking the lead off the jump. Graf led with four kills which contributed to the Panthers seven-point lead early at 14-7. HPU held Army to just 15 points in the first set.
The second set started out like the first. High Point stretched to a 14-5 lead but a string of errors by the Panthers closed the gap to 19-18. After a tie up at 23 all, Army punched the next two points to take set two.
Set three was a close battle between the teams. A service ace from
Regina Tijerina and back-to-back blocks from Shelton and
BayLea Sparks on the right side midway through the set was a turning point for the Panthers. Only up one point, 21-20,
Anna Wilson knocked in her first collegiate career kill to take a two point advantage before winning 25-23.
High Point closed out the game in the fourth set with a 25 to 14 win. The Panthers let West Point hang around through the first 16 points of the set, but then went on and took care of business. Wilson (Eve) tagged her 10
th kill of the game before
Kennedy Louisell closed out the final set with a strong kill on the outside.
