Sutton and Stuart Named to Academic All-District Team

The College Sports Communicators released its Academic All-District Baseball Teams on Tuesday afternoon, naming two High Point Baseball players to the list. Blake Sutton and Adam Stuart were recognized as one of the nation's top student-athletes for their outstanding performance on the diamond and in the classroom.

Sutton, the senior from Louisville, Kentucky opened his final season for the Panthers with a bang, knocking out a walk-off grand slam in the season opener against Bryant University. He capped off his senior season appearing in 49 games with 47 starts, batting .224 with an OPS of .851. He collected 36 hits in his 161 at bats, knocking out 13 home runs to lead the team and make top 10 on the Big South leaderboards. Along with his 13 home runs, Sutton added 38 runs batted in (RBI) and 32 runs. As the starting catcher, he tallied 349 putouts and threw out a career-high 17 runners stealing base. Sutton ends his career appearing in 150 games, including 138 starts, with an overall .246 batting average, 19 home runs, 81 RBI. behind the plate he collected 935 put outs and 125 assists for a .973 career fielding percentage. Sutton graduated this past May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science with a 3.76 cumulative GPA.

Stuart, the senior from Raleigh, North Carolina rounded out his final year in a High Point jersey starting in all 51 games at short stop, only one of three players to do so this season. Stuart has started in a consecutive 128 games since 2021. He batted .303 on the season with OPS of .866, a SLG% of .462 and an OB% of .404. Stuart collected 59 hits, 36 runs, 10 doubles and 32 RBI. He set a new career-high in home runs this season with seven and had single-game career-high five RBI at Elon. In the field, he led team with 140 assists while adding 81 putouts for a .961 fielding percentage. For his career, Stuart appeared in 162 games, starting all but six. He combined for a .277 batting average, .392 slugging percentage and collected 166 hits, 13 home runs and 89 RBI. He totaled 257 putouts and 426 assists for a .967 fielding percentage. Stuart graduated in December with a B.S,B.A. in Finance with a 3.84 GPA and is currently working on his MBA. He was also awarded a Millis Scholar Athlete for having above a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
