Panthers Dominate Highlanders, 15-5

High Point Secures Second Conference Win Over Radford

HIGH POINT, N.C.- An absolute dominant team effort by High Point women's lacrosse Saturday gave them their second conference win against the Radford Highlanders. Six different Panthers scored in the 15-5 win — three different players recorded hat tricks.

Site: Vert Stadium
Score: High Point 15, Radford 5
Records: High Point (3-8, 2-2), Furman (3-9, 0-4)

Coach Boswell: "We were really excited to get this win against Radford and are looking forward to what is to come. We worked really hard this week on our man-to-man defense and I am happy about the amount of caused turnovers we had and the ability to convert those to goals. As a team, we are looking to build confidence right now and focus on playing High Point lacrosse."

High Point came out with a fire underneath them, holding Radford scoreless in the first quarter. Jordan Miles opened up the scoring to mark her ninth straight game contributing points.

Rosselli and Loescher put in their first goals of the night a few minutes later followed by efforts by Cavallaro and Loescher to end the quarter on top 5-0.

Radford scored first in the second quarter, but Rosselli immediately responded to net her second of the evening. Kraft, Baehr, and MacDonald were all over the Highlanders, holding them to just two first half goals—the lowest halftime opponent score of the season.

Going into the break, the Panthers maintained a five-goal deficit with goals by Bruce, Loescher, Cavallaro, Rosselli, and Miles. Baehr secured four first-half draw controls, Suplee tallied four saves, and Jenna Kraft added three caused turnovers.

HPU did not let off the gas in the third. Mandy Brockamp won the opening draw and Cavallaro scored her ninth goal of the season off an assist from Shannon Smith.

Brockamp scored a man-down goal moments later and did not stop there. The sophomore went on to score three consecutive goals to net a second-half hat trick and put High Point up 11-4.

"I think this is our flip of the script. We are working on connecting throughout the whole field from defense to the middies to offense".

Miles and Rosselli followed in her footsteps, scoring back-to-back goals to both secure hat tricks for themselves. On the other end, Sadie Coachman took over in goal and contributed four beautiful saves.

Esprit Cha wrapped up the scoring and finalized the win with the 15th goal.

The Panthers were a force to be reckoned with on both ends. Jenna Kraft ended the evening with four caused turnovers and two ground balls. Baehr had another great game with five draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Suplee and Coachman combined for 11 saves.

Offensively, Brockamp and Rosselli recorded their first hat tricks of the season and Miles tallied her second of the year. Loescher put in two goals and dished out two assists to tally her eleventh straight multi-point contest. Cavallaro had her third multi-point game with two goals and an assist.

Today's win marks the Panther's second conference win and third win of the season. High Point is now 8-0 all-time against Radford.

UP NEXT: The Panthers travel to Durham Tuesday, April 11th to face Duke at 4:00 P.M.
